Series angle

This series explains agentic AI work platforms in simple, everyday language. The focus is not on coding. It is on how ordinary people, small business owners, freelancers, admin teams, consultants, educators, and busy professionals can use AI tools to get real work done.

Series introduction

Most people are used to AI tools that answer questions.

You type something in. The AI replies. You copy the answer, edit it, and then do the actual work yourself.

Agentic AI is different.

An agentic AI work platform is designed to do more than answer. It can plan a task, open files, work through steps, use tools, create documents, organise information, and come back with a finished result for you to review.

Think of it less like a chatbot and more like a digital assistant.

You are still in charge. You still need to check the work. But instead of asking AI for “ideas”, you can start asking it to complete useful tasks.

This series looks at three platforms:

  1. Microsoft 365 Copilot — easiest for everyday office users
  2. Claude Cowork — strong for document-heavy work and admin
  3. ChatGPT Agent — flexible for research, planning and comparisons
  4. OpenAI Codex — useful to understand, but more technical and not the best first choice for average users

Each article covers what the tool is, where to get it, what it may cost, and one simple task example you can try.
